One Frank Lampard record Cole Palmer could break at Chelsea before the end of the season

A Bright Spot Amid Chelsea’s Underperformance
Amidst Chelsea’s overall underperformance this season, Cole Palmer shines brightly.

Individual Success Amidst Team Struggles
While Mauricio Pochettino’s squad finds themselves in the ninth spot on the Premier League table, Cole Palmer has stood out remarkably.

Impressive Stats
In his 26 appearances in the top-flight, the attacker has netted an impressive 16 goals and provided nine assists.

Breaking Records
This places Palmer in a prestigious position as the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard in 2019 to achieve 25 goal contributions. He now has his sights set on surpassing a record set by Blues legend Frank Lampard.

Chasing Lampard’s Record
Out of Palmer’s 16 goals this season, eight have come from penalty kicks.

Aiming for History
The 21-year-old needs a few more successful spot kicks before the season’s end to match or even surpass Lampard’s record. According to Chelsea’s official website, Lampard holds the record for the most penalties scored in a single Premier League season, with 10 goals in the 2009/10 campaign.

Remaining Fixtures
Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures include a Premier League clash against Everton at home, followed by an FA Cup semi-final showdown against Manchester City at Wembley. Subsequently, Pochettino’s side will face off against Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur.

European Hopes Alive
Despite their current ninth-place standing, Chelsea remains within reach of Europa League qualification, trailing Manchester United by only five points with a game in hand. However, consistent performance has eluded them this season.

Relying on Palmer’s Form
With Palmer’s consistent form, Chelsea’s hopes are pinned on him. The young talent is expected to play a crucial role, especially against his former club, Manchester City, in the upcoming fixture. However, relying solely on Palmer may not be sustainable in the long run.
