Rio Ferdinand suggest if Mauricio Pochettino should continue his Job after Chelsea’s 5-0 loss to Arsenal

Pundit Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on what he believes Chelsea should do regarding manager Mauricio Pochettino following their defeat to Arsenal. Speaking to TNT Sports, the former Manchester United defender expressed his thoughts on the future of the club after their 5-0 loss at the Emirates.

Chelsea’s performance notably faltered in the second half, with the absence of Cole Palmer from the squad for the London derby exacerbating the team’s struggles. The pressure on Pochettino is undoubtedly mounting, with senior figures within the club taking notice of both the performance and the result in the capital.

Ferdinand, however, advocates for Chelsea to retain Mauricio Pochettino despite the disappointing outcome. He emphasized, “If you have invested a billion pounds in potential, then sacking the manager isn’t the solution. I’m curious to see how the management situation unfolds this summer.”

The defeat follows a closely contested FA Cup semi-final, where little blame could be attributed to Pochettino after a loss to Manchester City. However, the manager’s decisions, including changes in defense and handling the absence of Palmer, left supporters puzzled.

Carney Chukwuemeka, who might have expected a starting opportunity in Palmer’s absence, was once again overlooked, while Raheem Sterling, another hopeful, was only introduced late in the game.

Despite mitigating circumstances, the 5-0 scoreline is undeniably embarrassing for Pochettino and cannot be dismissed lightly.
