Sky Sports share how likely Reece James’s Chance of Featuring Against Liverpool

Chelsea have received a major boost as they prepare for their return to Premier League action after the international break. Reece James has been spotted back in first-team training for the first time this season, following a difficult start to life under Enzo Maresca due to injury.

James’ return has clearly lifted the spirits of his teammates, who are well aware of the impact he can make when fully fit. With the ongoing international break, James has had extra time to work on his fitness, giving fans hope that he could soon feature in the squad.

Will James Be Ready for Liverpool?

The big question now is whether the England international will be fit enough to make the matchday squad for Chelsea’s clash against Liverpool on Sunday. According to Sky Sports, there’s an “outside chance” that James could be involved at Anfield.

They reported: “He’s back in training now, and perhaps an outside chance he could be included in their matchday squad to face Liverpool.” However, given his injury history, Chelsea will likely approach his return with caution to avoid any setbacks.

Malo Gusto Expected to Start

In James’ absence, Malo Gusto has been filling in at right-back, performing admirably. It’s likely that Gusto will continue to start against Liverpool, especially with James still easing his way back to full fitness.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will need to make changes in their defense, as both Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella are suspended due to yellow card accumulation. Renato Veiga is expected to start at left-back, following a strong international break.

Tosin Adarabioyo Set to Step In

With Fofana out, Tosin Adarabioyo, the former Fulham defender, is likely to get the nod to start. Adarabioyo has been putting in solid performances recently and seems ready to step up.

While James may not be ready to start against Liverpool, it won’t be long before Chelsea’s captain is back in the first-team lineup, providing a huge boost for Maresca and his squad.
